Maryland Lottery players cash in during stunning winning streak

Bonus Match 5 is on a hot streak after another top-prize ticket was sold in Maryland

Baltimore, MD — Maryland Lottery players are seeing an unusual run of luck as a $50K Bonus Match 5 winning ticket sold in Gaithersburg became the fourth top-prize winner in the game’s last five drawings.

The winning ticket matched all five numbers drawn Monday night to capture the game’s $50K top prize. The June 15 winning numbers were 2, 7, 19, 25 and 33. The Bonus Ball number was 27.

Lottery officials said the winning ticket was purchased at the 7-Eleven located at 19235 Watkins Mill Road in Gaithersburg. The Montgomery County retailer will receive a $500 bonus for selling the top-prize winning ticket.

The latest win continues a stretch of top-prize payouts in Bonus Match 5. Last week alone produced three consecutive drawings with top-tier winners, including a $100K winning ticket sold in Bowie on Thursday, a $50K winner sold in Odenton on Friday and another $50K winner sold in La Plata on Saturday.

As of Tuesday, those previous winning tickets had not yet been claimed, according to the Maryland Lottery.

Bonus Match 5 drawings are held every night of the week. Players select five numbers from 1 through 39, and five winning numbers are drawn. A Bonus Ball is then selected from the remaining numbers.

Matching all five winning numbers earns the game’s $50K top prize. Additional prizes ranging from $2 to $600 are available for other winning number combinations involving the Bonus Ball or matching at least three winning numbers.

Prizes exceeding $25,000 must be claimed through Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore, either in person by appointment or by mail.
