EAST HUNTINGDON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A Maryland man wanted for carjacking and the theft of a dog was arrested over the weekend in North Carolina following a pursuit with authorities.
Kenneth Crider, of Poolesville, Maryland, is facing charges of robbery, theft, and receiving stolen property. State troopers responded to a call on September 23 from the Tractor Supply store in East Huntingdon Township, where the incident occurred.
The victim reported that Crider forcibly took his truck keys and fled the scene in his vehicle, which contained the victim’s dog, Lucky. The suspect was seen heading toward Route 819, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Surveillance footage from a nearby Walmart in Connellsville showed Crider arriving less than an hour later. Troopers said the video depicted the suspect letting the dog out briefly before leaving the area in the stolen 2016 Ford Focus.
Authorities in Pennsylvania are coordinating with out-of-state law enforcement to locate the missing dog.
