RANDALLSTOWN, Md. — A spur-of-the-moment stop at an Annapolis gas station turned into a $1 million payday for a Randallstown woman who claimed the top prize from a Lucky 777 scratch-off ticket, according to the Maryland Lottery.
The winner, who chose to remain anonymous, purchased the ticket at the Exxon station on 2101 West Street while en route to a scheduled meeting. After arriving early, she stopped for a beverage and picked up several scratch-off tickets. A $20 MONOPOLY ticket earned her the same amount back, prompting her to try one more ticket — the Lucky 777.
After the meeting, she scratched only the barcode and scanned it using the Maryland Lottery mobile app. The result showed a top prize win, totaling $1 million. She then returned home and shared the news with her partner and mother.
The Randallstown resident said that playing the lottery had been a long-standing family tradition. She and her mother had regularly played a variety of games together over the years, including Mega Millions, Pick 4, Pick 5, and scratch-offs.
This win marks one of the top prizes awarded in Maryland this week and one of the state’s larger scratch-off payouts in recent months.

The Exxon station that sold the winning ticket will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Maryland Lottery for its role in the transaction.
The woman plans to use the winnings to provide financial support for her family, plan for retirement, and care for her two dogs.
The Lucky 777 game is a $20 scratch-off ticket offering multiple top prizes. While several winning tickets remain in circulation, only a limited number include the $1 million prize.
