Murder suspect captured after deadly triple shooting rocked South Baltimore

A 20-year-old man has been charged with murder after a shooting left one man dead and two others wounded in South Baltimore, police said.

BALTIMORE, MD — A man accused of carrying out a triple shooting that left one person dead and two others injured in South Baltimore has been arrested more than a month after the attack, according to Baltimore Police.

Police said 20-year-old Taiquan Thomas, of Halethorpe, was wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of 41-year-old Curtis Knox.

The shooting occurred at approximately 2:51 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, in the 1000 block of South Hanover Street.

Responding officers found three men suffering from apparent gunshot wounds—a 40-year-old man, a 35-year-old man, and an unidentified male.

All three victims were transported to area hospitals. Police said the 35-year-old and 40-year-old men suffered non-life-threatening injuries, while the unidentified victim was listed in life-threatening condition.

The critically injured victim later died from his injuries and was identified as Curtis Knox, 41. The case was subsequently upgraded to a homicide investigation.

On Wednesday, July 15, Warrant Apprehension detectives arrested Thomas in Catonsville without incident.

He was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged with first-degree murder and first-degree assault.

Baltimore Police have not released additional details about a possible motive.
