MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — A Myrtle Beach police officer discharged their firearm late Saturday night after encountering an armed suspect during a disturbance on North Ocean Boulevard, according to authorities.
At approximately 11:50 p.m. on April 26, officers observed multiple individuals involved in a physical altercation in the 900 block of North Ocean Boulevard. During the incident, one individual began firing a weapon, prompting an officer to respond by firing their own weapon. The officer was not injured in the encounter.
