NEW BERN, NC – Marvin Thomas of New Bern struck it lucky with a $1 Cash 5 ticket, winning a $120,000 jackpot on Sunday night. Thomas purchased his winning ticket from Fairfield Fuel Market, located on Broad Creek Road in New Bern.

The odds of winning the Cash 5, which involves matching numbers on all five white balls, are 1 in 962,598. Thomas claimed his prize at the lottery headquarters in Raleigh on Wednesday. After federal and state tax withholdings, he took home $85,800.
