NEWARK, N.J. — A member of the Rollin’ 60s Neighborhood Crips gang has pleaded guilty to his involvement in a racketeering conspiracy, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger announced on Thursday.

Kareem Green, also known as “Try Me,” 32, admitted to charges related to a Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) conspiracy, as well as a separate indictment for cocaine distribution. Green entered his guilty plea before U.S. District Judge Susan D. Wigenton in Newark federal court.

Court documents and statements made during the hearing revealed that from 2015 through September 22, 2022, Green was an active member of the Rollin’ 60s Neighborhood Crips, a criminal organization involved in acts of violence and drug distribution in New Jersey and other areas.

On three separate occasions in 2021, Green participated in criminal activities with other gang members, including two shootings in April and the distribution of cocaine in March.

The RICO conspiracy charge carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. The controlled substance charge is also punishable by up to 20 years in prison, with a potential fine of up to $1 million. Green is scheduled to be sentenced on December 18, 2024.
