New York Rangers Fans Say They Face Ticket Barriers In North Carolina

NEW YORK,< NY – New York Rangers fans are expressing discontent over ticket restrictions for the upcoming second round of the NHL playoff series against the Carolina Hurricanes. With it set to start next week, the Presidential Trophy-winning NY Rangers will face challenges not only on the ice but also in the stands.

According to Ticketmaster, ticket sales at PNC Arena in Raleigh will be confined to North Carolina residents only. Fans outside these areas will likely turn to secondary markets, as non-local orders will be canceled and refunded without notice.

In contrast, Madison Square Garden, the home venue for the Rangers in New York City, imposes no such ticket sales restrictions. The Rangers will host Games 1 and 2 and Games 5 and 7 if necessary. This regional restriction at PNC Arena reflects a common strategy among NHL teams to prioritize local fans, yet it has sparked frustration among the extensive fan base of the Rangers.

Ticketmaster did not reply to an email regarding the claims being made by Rangers fans regarding restricted ticket sales.
