NEW JERSEY — Multiple crashes, road treatments, and heavy traffic are causing delays across major highways and roadways in New Jersey this morning.
Road treatment operations are underway on the Atlantic City-Brigantine Connector and the Atlantic City Expressway in both directions, prompting officials to urge drivers to move over for highway workers.
Several crashes are affecting traffic flow, including a crash on I-287 northbound near Exit 10 in Franklin Township, closing one left lane. On the New Jersey Turnpike, a crash on the inner roadway southbound near Interchange 9 in New Brunswick has been moved to the right shoulder, while another crash on the outer roadway northbound near Interchange 14 in Newark has blocked one right lane. Additionally, a crash on the entrance ramp at Interchange 11 in Woodbridge Township has closed one left lane.
Heavy traffic is reported on NJ 3 eastbound from Clifton to East Rutherford, with travel times reaching 40-45 minutes due to an earlier incident. I-295 northbound is experiencing delays from Bellmawr to Cherry Hill Township due to volume, and US 1 northbound in North Brunswick Township has a 15-20 minute delay.
Bridge and tunnel delays are also impacting commuters, with travel times of 20 minutes on the George Washington Bridge upper and lower levels from New York, and a 25-minute delay at the Lincoln Tunnel eastbound from the New Jersey Turnpike Exit 16E.
