ROXBURY, N.J. — The owner of a massage business in Roxbury has been arrested on charges of promoting prostitution and money laundering after investigators uncovered evidence of illegal sex acts taking place at the business.
Bumsuk Lee, 67, of Flushing, New York, was identified as the owner of New Paradise Spa, located at 967 Route 46 in the Kenvil section of Roxbury. Authorities allege Lee ran the business as an illicit massage operation and profited from sex acts performed by employees.
On July 24, law enforcement executed search warrants at the spa and at Lee’s residence in Flushing. According to officials, the search yielded evidence of prostitution and a substantial amount of U.S. currency.
Lee was charged on a warrant complaint with second-degree money laundering and third-degree promoting prostitution. He is currently being held at Rikers Island in New York pending extradition to New Jersey.
In connection with the investigation, Sujin “Rose” Huh, 43, was charged with engaging in prostitution, a disorderly persons offense.
The operation was led by the Roxbury Police Department with support from the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes Unit, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, and the NYPD Queens Vice Unit.
