Off-duty NYPD school safety agent arrested on misconduct and touching charges

QUEENS, NY – An off-duty New York City school safety agent was arrested Wednesday night in Queens on allegations involving misconduct and inappropriate contact with a minor, police said.

The arrest occurred around 8:30 p.m. within the confines of the 105th Precinct.

Authorities identified the suspect as 55-year-old Phillip Borden, an NYPD School Safety Agent.

According to police, Borden was charged with forcible touching, official misconduct, and endangering the welfare of a minor.

The department confirmed the arrest and said its Internal Affairs Bureau has been notified as part of standard protocol when a member of service faces criminal charges.
