Ohio man scores huge lottery win

Blacklick man turns $10,000 Mega Millions win into $100,000 with lucky Power Play

Blacklick, OH – A routine Mega Millions ticket turned into a six-figure payday for one Blacklick man, who scored $100,000 in the January 16 drawing after hitting four out of five white balls and the Mega Ball — and multiplying his prize tenfold thanks to a 10X Power Play.

The winning numbers drawn were 2, 26, 33, 42, 67 with Mega Ball 1. Normally, matching four white balls and the Mega Ball nets $10,000, but the Power Play add-on boosted his prize to a staggering $100,000.

After mandatory state and federal taxes totaling 26.75%, the winner will take home $73,250 in cash.

The Ohio Lottery, which hosts Mega Millions drawings every Tuesday and Friday at 11:00 p.m., reminds players that the next jackpot is estimated at $266 million. Drawings are broadcast live on WGN or streamed through the official Mega Millions website.

Since its inception in 1974, the Ohio Lottery has contributed more than $34 billion to education across the state.
