Box truck crash in Roosevelt Borough sends one to trauma center, sparks hazmat response
ROOSEVELT, N.J. – A late-afternoon crash involving a box truck and multiple trees in Roosevelt Borough left one person injured and triggered a hazardous materials response as crews worked to contain a diesel fuel spill. Emergency units were dispatched to Nurko Road at approximately 4:40 p.m., where initial reports indicated a possible entrapment.
Responding crews arrived to find the truck off the roadway after striking several trees, though the occupant was no longer trapped upon their arrival. Firefighters and EMS personnel assessed the scene and began medical care while stabilizing the vehicle and surrounding area.

The injured occupant was transported by ambulance to a regional trauma center. Officials did not release the severity of injuries.
