Red sneakers clue ties suspect to multiple thefts

Stamford, CT — A string of package thefts in downtown Stamford has prompted police to release images of a suspect seen repeatedly in the same distinctive footwear.

The Stamford Police Department said its Property Crimes Unit has received multiple complaints, including two incidents reported within the past week.

Investigators said the same individual is believed to be involved in the recent cases and was captured on surveillance images. The suspect was observed wearing red and white sneakers in each incident.

Photos show the individual inside residential buildings carrying packages believed to have been taken from delivery areas.

Police are asking residents to remain alert and report any suspicious activity as the investigation continues.
