Police seize drugs and cash in Dorchester raid

Authorities make arrest after targeted investigation

Boston, MA — A coordinated early morning operation in Dorchester led to the arrest of a local man and the seizure of suspected drugs and cash following a targeted investigation.

The operation took place around 6:00 a.m. April 29 on Norfolk Street, where members of the Citywide Drug Control Unit and District D-4 Drug Control Unit executed a search warrant at a residence.

Police said Daniel Harris, 41, of Dorchester, was taken into custody after officers entered the home. During the search, investigators observed drug residue in a bathroom area, along with empty plastic bags.

Authorities recovered a substance believed to be crack cocaine and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.

Harris is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on a charge of possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance.

The investigation was supported by the department’s SWAT Team.
