PATERSON, N.J. — The City of Paterson has resurfaced nearly 50 streets in recent months, with Mayor Andre Sayegh announcing that ten were completed just this past week.
The announcement was made as part of a broader infrastructure push aimed at improving road conditions across the city. “We just repaved ten streets in one week,” Sayegh stated in a message shared online. “In the last several months, we have resurfaced close to 50 roads/surfaces in Paterson and there’s more to come including River Street.”
The repaving effort includes both residential and main thoroughfares, though officials have not yet released the full list of completed roads. River Street, a key artery in the city, is among the upcoming targets for resurfacing.
The city’s public works department has been overseeing the resurfacing operations. The funding source for the project has not yet been disclosed, but previous city infrastructure projects have drawn from both municipal and state-level resources.
Sayegh has highlighted infrastructure as a focus of his administration, pointing to road conditions as a critical component of quality of life and city safety.
