Philly man charged with stealing and posting nude pics of victims

HARRISBURG, PA — A Philadelphia man has been charged with dozens of offenses after allegedly accessing phones to steal and post nude photos of five victims online, the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General announced Tuesday.

Tyler J. Jones, 33, is accused of secretly sending himself intimate images by accessing the victims’ phones or those of their partners, then uploading the content without consent. He was arraigned Tuesday morning with bail set at $350,000 and ordered to have no contact with the victims.

Jones faces multiple felony counts, including unlawful use of a computer and unlawful duplication. He is also charged with misdemeanor counts of invasion of privacy and unlawful dissemination.

According to investigators, this is not Jones’ first offense. He was previously convicted of secretly recording college students in a bathroom and posting those videos online. In that case, he pleaded guilty to criminal use of a communication device and invasion of privacy.

The latest charges stem from an investigation initiated after a referral from the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office and led by the Philadelphia Police Department. The case will be prosecuted by Deputy Attorney General Madelyn Abry.

Jones remains presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
