Piscataway man admits to cocaine sales in Ocean County

Piscataway man pleads guilty to cocaine distribution in Ocean County

Toms River, NJ – A drug investigation spanning multiple agencies and municipalities has ended with a guilty plea from a Piscataway man accused of selling cocaine across Ocean County.

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that Shaun Anderson, 47, of Piscataway, pleaded guilty Monday to distribution of more than one-half ounce of cocaine. The plea was entered before Superior Court Judge Guy P. Ryan. At sentencing scheduled for March 27, prosecutors said they will seek a 10-year sentence in New Jersey State Prison.

The charges stem from an investigation that began in January 2024, when authorities determined Anderson was distributing cocaine throughout the Ocean County area. Prosecutors said Anderson sold cocaine in both Lakewood and Toms River townships to law enforcement officers acting in an undercover capacity.

Anderson was taken into custody March 21, 2024, by the New Jersey State Police. He was charged and later served with the complaint by summons while awaiting court proceedings in Ocean County Superior Court.

Prosecutors credited the investigation to a joint effort involving the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force, High Tech Crime Squad, New Jersey State Police, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the Ocean County Regional SWAT Team, and the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas task force.
