Trenton, NJ – The Powerball jackpot continues its record-shattering run, surging to an estimated $1.44 billion for Wednesday’s drawing after no ticket matched all six numbers on Monday, Sept. 1.
The winning numbers for the Sept. 3 drawing were 3, 16, 29, 61, 69 and the red Powerball 22 with a Power Play multiplier of 2x. While no one hit the jackpot, plenty of players walked away with big wins.
According to lottery officials, four tickets matched all five white balls plus the Power Play option to win $2 million each in Michigan, Oregon, Texas, and Wyoming. Another 11 tickets matched all five white balls to claim $1 million prizes. Those winners were spread across California (2), Colorado, Florida, Georgia (2), Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
The jackpot has been rolling since June 1, when a California ticket won $204.5 million. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot remain a staggering 1 in 292.2 million.
If someone hits the jackpot Wednesday, the winner can choose between the full $1.44 billion paid out over 30 years or a one-time cash payout of $654.3 million before taxes.
