Hastings on Hudson, NY – A Powerball player in Westchester County is $50,000 richer after purchasing a third-prize-winning ticket for the January 3 drawing at a local convenience store.

According to the New York Lottery, the winning ticket was sold at DEVISH CORPORATION, located at 577 Warburton Avenue in Hastings on Hudson. The ticket matched four of the five white balls and the red Powerball to secure the third-tier prize.

The winning numbers for the January 3 Powerball drawing were drawn from a field of 1 to 69, with the red Powerball drawn separately from a field of 1 to 26. The game holds televised drawings three nights a week—Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.

This win is one of the several recent Powerball prizes claimed in New York, where the lottery remains the most profitable in North America. In the 2024-2025 fiscal year, it contributed $3.6 billion to support public education across the state.

The winner of the $50,000 prize has yet to come forward. Lottery officials remind winners to sign the back of their ticket and contact the Lottery for prize claim instructions.
