$100K Powerball Powerplay ticket sold at Maspeth smoke shop
MASPETH, NY — A lucky Powerball player in Queens turned a regular ticket into a six-figure payday after purchasing a winning Powerplay ticket worth $100,000 for the August 20 drawing.
The prize-winning ticket was sold at Stop&Go Convenience & Smoke Shop, located at 5547 69th Street in Maspeth. The third-prize ticket matched four white ball numbers and the red Power Ball, and because the player opted in for the Power Play feature, the original $50,000 prize was doubled to $100,000.
The Powerball drawing is held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m., with numbers selected from a pool of 1 through 69 and the red Power Ball drawn from a separate pool of 1 through 26. The Power Play multiplier, available for an additional $1, can increase non-jackpot winnings up to 10 times depending on the drawing.
The winner has not yet come forward to claim the prize. Under New York State Lottery rules, players have up to one year from the draw date to redeem winning tickets.
