The Pasadena woman landed the top prize on a Triple Red 7s Tripler scratch-off after her previous biggest Lottery win was $5,000
PASADENA, MD – After decades of playing the Maryland Lottery and hoping for a major win, a Pasadena great-grandmother finally hit the prize she had been waiting for, scoring $57,777 on a $5 scratch-off ticket.
The woman, whose name was not released by the Maryland Lottery, claimed the $57,777 top prize on a Triple Red 7s Tripler scratch-off on Sept. 3.
Before her latest win, the mother, grandmother and great-grandmother had already experienced some Lottery luck. Her previous largest prize was $5,000 on Pick 4.
She told Lottery officials she has continued playing over the years because of the possibility of winning money.
The new windfall comes just months before the holiday season, and the winner indicated that family members could benefit from her good fortune. She has not yet decided exactly how she will spend the rest of the prize.
The winning ticket was purchased at Whitey’s Liquors, located at 803 North Hammond’s Ferry Road in Linthicum.
The retailer will receive a $577.77 bonus from the Maryland Lottery for selling the top-prize ticket.
Triple Red 7s Tripler is a $5 scratch-off that launched in May with eight top prizes of $57,777.
Following the Pasadena woman’s win, four $57,777 top prizes remain unclaimed.
