Road rage turns into gun threat on DC street before quick arrest
Washington, DC — A morning commute in Northwest Washington escalated into an armed confrontation when a driver allegedly pointed a gun at another motorist, leading to a swift police response and arrest.
The incident occurred around 10:06 a.m. April 20 in the 1700 block of 7th Street Northwest, where Third District officers responded to reports of an armed assault in progress.
According to police, the victim was driving behind the suspect when a traffic dispute developed. During the encounter, the suspect allegedly brandished a firearm and pointed it at the victim.
Officers quickly located the suspect nearby and took him into custody without incident. A firearm was recovered at the scene.
The suspect, identified as 57-year-old David Anthony Jennings of Brandywine, Maryland, has been charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, possession of an unregistered firearm, possession of unregistered ammunition, and carrying a pistol without a license.
