Cumberland man jailed without bond after arrest leads to drug paraphernalia charge

Cumberland, MD – A routine warrant service in Cumberland ended with additional criminal charges and a trip to jail after officers uncovered suspected drug paraphernalia during an arrest.

The arrest occurred on Tuesday when officers served a bench warrant on 25-year-old Marcellius Orlando Hamilton of Cumberland. Following the arrest, a search conducted incident to custody led to the discovery of CDS paraphernalia, according to police.

Hamilton was additionally charged with possession of CDS paraphernalia and issued a citation at the scene. He was then transported to Central Booking, where he appeared before a District Court commissioner.

Authorities said Hamilton was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center without bond. The bench warrant stemmed from a grand jury indictment, police said.
