SEASIDE PARK, N.J. — During the Seaside Park Borough council meeting on Wednesday night, Mayor John Peterson issued mayoral proclamations recognizing first responders for their bravery during water rescues on September 13 and September 19, 2024. Officers and emergency personnel from several agencies were honored for their efforts to save swimmers in distress.

Class One Officer Luke Cox and Class Two Officer Mason Kinlan were acknowledged for their heroism during the rescue of two swimmers on Sept. 19. On Sept. 13, Class One Officers Dakota Giglio and Bryan Urspruch were similarly recognized for rescuing a swimmer in distress.

TriBoro EMS EMT Madison Braun, along with other EMS members, was also honored for assisting officers and victims during both rescue operations. Additionally, members of the Seaside Park and Seaside Heights Fire Departments were commended for their service to the borough during these emergency calls.

“All members from each agency, including our own, are recognized for acting above and beyond their duties with the intention to save lives,” the Seaside Park Police Department stated in a social media post following the meeting.

The council’s recognition underscores the critical role first responders play in the community, particularly in times of crisis.
