COLUMBUS, Ohio – Police have made a second arrest in connection with the shooting death of 11-year-old Amya Frazier, who was fatally wounded earlier this month in the Hilltop neighborhood.

The Columbus Division of Police said Matthew Seymour, 33, was taken into custody on December 19 and charged with involuntary manslaughter and endangering children for his alleged role in the incident.

Officers were called to the 200 block of South Wheatland Avenue around 6:26 p.m. on December 5 after reports of gunfire. Responding units found Frazier suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to a hospital, where she died of her injuries five days later, on December 10.

Authorities previously arrested a 14-year-old juvenile on December 14, charging the teen in connection with Frazier’s death.

Police have not released further details about how Seymour was involved but said the investigation remains ongoing.
