Cannoli the shelter favorite looking for a solo home

Eatontown, NJ – A three-year-old mixed-breed dog named Cannoli is drawing attention at the Monmouth County SPCA as she waits for adoption, with staff highlighting her training, size, and preference for being the only pet in the home.

Cannoli weighs about 50 pounds and is described by the shelter as a labrador and terrier mix with basic obedience training already in place. Staff say she responds to commands, enjoys daily walks, and spends much of her time seeking calm companionship, whether sitting beside a person or resting nearby.

According to the Monmouth County SPCA, Cannoli has become a consistent presence among staff and volunteers, who note her interest in toys and steady engagement during scheduled activities. Shelter representatives say she forms strong bonds with people and is suited for a household where she can be the only animal.

The shelter is open to the public Wednesday through Friday from noon to 7 p.m., and on weekends from noon to 5 p.m. Cannoli is currently available for viewing and adoption during regular operating hours, along with other dogs housed at the facility.

Information about Cannoli and other adoptable animals is available through the Monmouth County SPCA’s online listings.
