Powerball Power Play ticket worth $150K sold in Tappan
TAPPAN, N.Y. — A lucky Powerball player in Rockland County is holding a ticket worth $150,000 after the March 14 drawing, according to the New York Lottery.
Lottery officials said the third-prize-winning ticket was sold at Nick’s Convenience, located at 68 Route 303 in Tappan.
The winning ticket included the Power Play option, which multiplies non-jackpot prizes and boosted the payout to $150,000.
Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.
Players choose five numbers from a field of 1 through 69, while the Powerball is drawn separately from a field of 1 through 26. When purchased, the Power Play option gives players a chance to multiply certain non-jackpot prizes.
Prizes from New York Lottery draw games may be claimed up to one year from the date of the drawing.
The New York Lottery remains the largest and most profitable lottery in North America, contributing $3.6 billion in fiscal year 2024-2025 to support public schools across the state.
