Detectives from the Prince George’s County Police Homicide Unit have arrested 45-year-old Mark Terry of District Heights for the murder of his mother, 81-year-old Madia Terry.
The incident occurred on January 14, 2024, at approximately 8:00 AM. Police responded to their home in the 2000 block of Brooks Drive in the unincorporated area of District Heights. Upon arrival, officers found Madia Terry unresponsive in the living room with visible bruising and trauma. She was declared deceased at the scene.
In a subsequent interview, Mark Terry confessed to detectives that he fatally assaulted his mother during an altercation. He faces charges of first and second-degree murder, among other related charges. Terry is currently in the custody of the Department of Corrections.
