New Jersey – The Friday morning commute is running smoothly in North Jersey, but multiple incidents across the southern part of the state are causing delays, lane closures, and detours for drivers, according to traffic reports.
As of early morning, three separate incidents — including a crash investigation, a downed utility pole, and a water main break — have disrupted traffic across Camden and Burlington counties.
The most severe impact is in Evesham Township, where a crash investigation shut down all lanes in both directions on Route 73 near Lincoln Drive.
Key Points
- Multiple incidents slowing Friday morning commute across South Jersey
- Route 73 in Evesham Township fully closed due to crash investigation
- Utility pole down and water main break causing additional lane closures
Closures and lane restrictions across the region
In Deptford Township, a downed utility pole has forced the closure of all lanes on Route 41 in both directions north of Route 47 as of 7:22 a.m., creating significant detours for local traffic.
Further east in Berlin, a water main break has reduced traffic on Route 73 southbound to one lane south of Lafayette Avenue, with the right lane and shoulder closed.
Officials have not provided estimated reopening times for any of the affected roadways.
Conditions clearer in North Jersey
While South Jersey drivers face disruptions, traffic in North Jersey remains largely unaffected. The George Washington Bridge reported truck restrictions on the lower level eastbound, but all lanes remain open.
Drivers of commercial vehicles are being directed to use specific exit routes to manage traffic flow approaching the bridge.
