SPRING VALLEY, NY – Kevin Castillo, 22, of Spring Valley, was sentenced to 7.5 years in state prison with 5 years of post-release supervision.
Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II announced the sentence following Castillo’s conviction for first-degree assault, a class B felony.
On March 24, 2023, Spring Valley Police Department officers responded to a shooting at a local residence.
The female victim, suffering a gunshot wound to her right forearm, was transported for emergency surgery at Westchester Medical Center.
Castillo, identified as the assailant, was arrested about an hour and a half after the incident. The investigation involved multiple law enforcement agencies.
