Stafford County sheriff’s office logs multiple DUI arrests, fraud, larceny, and trespassing incidents

October 4, 2024

STAFFORD, Va. – The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office reported a series of incidents on Thursday, October 3, 2024, involving arrests for driving under the influence (DUI), as well as cases of fraud, larceny, and trespassing.

At 1:46 a.m., First Sergeant D.W. Fetterolf was at a Wawa on Richmond Highway when he noticed the driver of a Camry vomiting. Suspecting intoxication, Deputy C.D. Quebedeaux assisted with field sobriety tests, leading to the driver’s arrest. The driver admitted his mother would be “discontent” with his DUI arrest. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.

Later in the day, at 7:05 p.m., Deputy R.L. Hubbard responded to a disturbance at the Target on South Gateway Drive. A driver in a “boxy” vehicle was reportedly yelling “he worships the devil!” Although no signs of Satan were found, the driver exhibited signs of intoxication and was arrested for DUI. She was also held at Rappahannock Regional Jail.

In a separate case of fraud, a man reported at 10:36 a.m. that loans were fraudulently taken out in his name, leading to wage garnishment. Deputy C.M. Ramirez is investigating the incident.

Additionally, at 9:55 a.m., another victim reported that her wallet and phone went missing while shopping at Publix, later discovering fraudulent charges on her credit cards. This case is also being handled by Deputy Ramirez.

At 6:05 p.m., deputies responded to a trespassing report on Woodstock Lane. A man was found inside a residence, claiming he was “destressing” and thought it was acceptable to be there because he occasionally helped clean the property. The man was issued summonses for trespassing and unlawful entry before being sent home.

All incidents remain under investigation, and those arrested are pending court appearances.
