Suspect Arrested in Fatal Oxon Hill Stabbing That Claimed Life of 44-Year-Old Man

A Washington, D.C., man is facing murder charges after Prince George’s County police say he fatally stabbed an Oxon Hill man during an argument before fleeing the scene.

Oxon Hill, MD – A Washington, D.C., man is in custody after being charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of an Oxon Hill man earlier this week, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department.

Anthony Joseph Key, 38, is charged with first- and second-degree murder and related offenses in the death of 44-year-old Corye Trapp of Oxon Hill.

Police said officers responded at approximately 6:35 p.m. Wednesday to the unit block of Audrey Lane for a reported stabbing.

Victim died after being found outside business

Responding officers located Trapp outside of a business suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was taken to a hospital, where he died a short time later, according to investigators.

The preliminary investigation determined the stabbing occurred during an argument between the two men. Detectives said there is no indication the suspect and victim knew each other before the encounter.

Suspect apprehended after brief pursuit

With assistance from the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Real Time Crime Center, patrol officers located Key in the 4900 block of Indian Head Highway.

Authorities said Key fled from officers but was quickly apprehended in the 4600 block of Livingston Road SE in Washington, D.C. He remains in custody in the District of Columbia pending extradition to Prince George’s County.

The Prince George’s County Police Department credited the Metropolitan Police Department with assisting in the arrest.
