STATEN ISLAND, NY – On Tuesday, at around 3:45 pm, the New York City Police Department arrested and charged Frank Rivera, a 58-year-old resident of Union Avenue, Staten Island.
Charges include murder, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon.
The charges are linked to an incident on Sunday, approximately 10:44 pm, when police responded to a distress call reporting an assault at 12 Union Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers found Jonathan Winokur, a 38-year-old male, with multiple stab wounds. Winokur was quickly transported to Richmond University Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
Rivera was taken into custody at the scene, and the investigation continues.
