Suspect arrested weeks after gunfire erupts on Alabama Avenue in DC
Washington, DC — A man has been arrested more than a month after gunfire broke out on a Southeast street, with detectives linking him to the shooting through surveillance footage.
The incident occurred around 9:52 p.m. March 18 in the 2100 block of Alabama Avenue Southeast. Police said the victim was standing outside when two suspects emerged from an alley, displayed handguns, and fired in his direction.
The victim was not struck, and the suspects fled the scene.
Following an investigation, detectives reviewed nearby security cameras and developed leads that identified one of the suspects.
On Wednesday, April 29, police arrested 26-year-old Duane Taylor of Southeast D.C. He has been charged with assault with a dangerous weapon involving a gun.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to search for additional suspects.
