Suspect sentenced in 6 million UPS warehouse burglary scheme in New Jersey New York Pennsylvania

CAMDEN, N.J. – A Pennsylvania man was sentenced to 39 months in federal prison for his role in a conspiracy that targeted approximately 55 United Parcel Service warehouses across multiple states, federal authorities announced.

Aboudramane Karamoko, 21, of Philadelphia, received his sentence Tuesday in Camden federal court. Three co-conspirators, also from Philadelphia, were previously sentenced. Sekou Fofanah, 20, and Shamaire Brown, 19, were each sentenced to 24 months in prison, while Quamaire Brown, 19, was sentenced to 33 months. All four were also ordered to serve three years of supervised release.

The burglary ring, which operated from January 2021 to April 2023, stole more than $1.6 million in merchandise. “Our incredible partnership with multiple agencies nationwide garnered sentencings that hold these thieves accountable,” said ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations Newark Special Agent in Charge Ricky J. Patel.

Authorities said the group targeted UPS warehouses in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Rhode Island. They broke into facilities by smashing or prying open loading bay doors, then searched for parcels labeled with “lithium-ion battery” warnings, which often contained high-value electronics such as cell phones.

All four defendants were ordered to pay $1,600,157 in restitution.
