At about 7:00 PM on Friday, March 7, 2025, the Drug Control Unit of District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested Cedric Waller, 40, of Boston on firearm charges. The arrest took place during a drug investigation in the area of 247 Woodrow Avenue.

Officers observed increased foot traffic in the vicinity and noted the building’s front door was damaged, allowing unrestricted access. They conducted surveillance and saw a male entering and leaving the building within four minutes.

Upon following the individual, officers performed a threshold inquiry due to the ongoing investigation. During a pat frisk, they discovered a firearm in the suspect’s waistband.

The firearm was identified as a Jimenez Arms Inc. with eleven rounds in the magazine, and its serial number was found to be defaced. Waller faces charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Defacement of a Firearm Serial Number, with an arraignment expected in Dorchester District Court.

The driver and passenger of the sedan managed to exit the vehicle. While the driver was unharmed, the passenger sustained a broken arm and several lacerations. The sole occupant of the tractor trailer was not injured in the crash.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the sedan driver failed to notice the tractor trailer executing a left turn and attempted to illegally pass it, causing the sedan to become wedged under the trailer. The accident led to a diesel fuel leak from the trailer’s refrigeration tank, prompting a response from several local fire departments and hazard management teams.

The incident occurred on Friday at around 1:35 a.m. A trooper on patrol observed a Chevrolet Traverse weaving while driving north on Coastal Highway near Postal Lane. The vehicle committed another traffic violation, prompting the trooper to initiate a traffic stop and administer a series of sobriety tests after observing signs of impairment in Finney.

Further investigation revealed that Finney had four prior convictions for DUI-related offenses. Subsequently, he was taken to Troop 7.

Finney faced charges including a fifth-offense DUI felony, driving with a suspended or revoked license, and speeding. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution with a $6,101 cash bond.

**Wilmington, DE** – Delaware State Police Detectives have apprehended Vincent Vari, a 48-year-old Wilmington resident, in connection with an attempted robbery at a Dollar General store in the Wilmington area.

On December 24 at approximately 9:22 p.m., troopers responded to reports of an attempted robbery at Dollar General located at 1402 East Newport Pike, Wilmington. During the incident, a suspect, identified as a white male, entered the store wielding a taser. He approached a store employee, activated the taser, and demanded cash. The employee managed to repel the suspect with a baseball bat, who subsequently fled towards East Highland Avenue. No injuries were reported.

Through investigative efforts, detectives from Troop 2 identified Vari as the suspect leading to a warrant for his arrest. On Friday, Vari was found by detectives and taken into custody without incident.

Vari was transported to Troop 2 and charged with Robbery 1st Degree and Wearing a Disguise during the Commission of a Felony, both felonies. He was arraigned and subsequently committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution, with bail set at $24,000 cash.

**Wilmington, DE** – Delaware State Police are investigating a road rage incident involving a firearm on I-95 that occurred on Friday.

On Friday at approximately 12:50 p.m., troopers responded to the 900 block of Concord Avenue following reports of a road rage incident. The preliminary investigation indicated that a 48-year-old male victim was driving on the 141 ramp for I-95 northbound when a U-Haul box truck, driven by an unknown black male suspect, began tailgating him. In response, the victim applied his brakes, leading the suspect to slow down, pull alongside, and engage in an argument before pointing a gun and fleeing. No injuries were reported.
