Three Found Guilty of Fatal Ambush in Philadelphia

**PHILADELPHIA, PA** — District Attorney Larry Krasner announced the conviction of Rayfiq Tiggle, Tariq Chambers, and Isaiah Jones for two counts of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and related firearm charges. The Philadelphia jury found them guilty for the murder of two teenagers in West Philadelphia in 2021.

On June 11, 2021, Tiggle, Chambers, and Jones drove to 55th and Arch Streets in a white Nissan Altima. Nasir Brooks, 17, and Steven Griffin, 18, were ambushed and fatally shot 16 times by Tiggle and Jones as they passed the vehicle. The attackers fled afterward.

A tip led the police to the getaway car within 20 minutes on Olive Street. Surveillance video and cell data confirmed the presence of Tiggle, Chambers, and Jones at the crime scene. Arrests were made in December 2022.

Judge Giovanni Campbell sentenced each to life without parole, plus an additional 20 to 40 years for conspiracy on November 15. District Attorney Krasner thanked the police and prosecuting attorney, Sean Perez, for their efforts in handling the case.

**Brooklyn, NY** – Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez announced that a man from Flatbush has been sentenced to 20 years to life in prison for the murder of a teenager in Prospect Park South in 2020. The incident involved the defendant pulling a knife and fatally stabbing the 19-year-old victim in the chest.

Mamadou Barry, 35, was identified as the defendant and sentenced by Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Rhonda Tomlinson. Barry was found guilty of second-degree murder on October 16 following a jury trial.

Evidence presented revealed that on February 18, 2020, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Barry and the victim, both Senegalese immigrants, were with friends in Prospect Park South. Barry, also known as “Zion,” attacked the victim, Mamadou Bah, with a knife, causing fatal injuries.

The victim fled to a barbershop seeking help, where he was later transported to Kings County Hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Police identified Barry through surveillance, witnesses, and social media, leading to his arrest on December 1, 2020, in Secaucus, New Jersey.

Teen Arrested in Connection with Claymont Robbery

**Claymont, DE** – Delaware State Police have arrested a 15-year-old girl related to a robbery at a Food Lion parking lot in Claymont earlier this month.

On the evening of October 3, at approximately 7:52 p.m., troopers responded to the robbery at 3609 Philadelphia Pike. A 78-year-old woman was targeted as she returned to her vehicle. One suspect seized her purse, causing a struggle that resulted in the purse’s contents spilling onto the ground, including her car key fob, which was taken by the suspects.

Detectives identified a 12-year-old boy, a 14-year-old boy, and a 15-year-old girl as suspects and secured arrest warrants. The two male suspects were previously apprehended last week.

On October 29, the 15-year-old girl was taken into custody without incident. She was charged with robbery and conspiracy and subsequently committed to VisionQuest Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond.

**Akron, OH** – Members of the Anti-Violence Bureau conducted a traffic stop at E. Archwood Avenue and Lily Street just before 6:00 p.m. on Thursday for traffic and equipment violations. The 16-year-old driver was cited for operating a vehicle without a valid license.

A 17-year-old male passenger attempted to flee the scene. He was taken into custody after a brief struggle with law enforcement, during which he allegedly struck an officer. A search revealed the teen was in possession of a loaded handgun and over 19 grams of suspected fentanyl.

The juvenile faces multiple charges, including Carrying Concealed Weapons, Improper Handling of Firearms inside a Motor Vehicle, Obstructing Official Business, Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, Resisting Arrest, Trafficking in Drugs, Possession of a Fentanyl Related Compound, and Criminal Damaging.

Additionally, a 16-year-old passenger was detained after exiting the back seat. Officers discovered a loaded handgun with a 50-round magazine in a backpack next to his seat. He was arrested and charged with Carrying Concealed Weapons and Improper Handling of Firearms inside a Motor Vehicle.

Juveniles Arrested in Armed Robbery

**Baltimore, MD** – Eastern District officers in Baltimore responded to an armed robbery on the 700 block of E. North Avenue on Wednesday. The incident involved a 14-year-old male victim who was approached by two males demanding his phone.

The suspects reportedly pulled the victim to the ground and displayed a handgun. Following the robbery, the suspects fled the scene on foot, according to police reports.

District detectives managed to track the victim’s phone and located individuals fitting the suspects’ descriptions. Officers detained two suspects: a 12-year-old male and a 14-year-old male.

Both suspects were taken to Juvenile Booking for further detention. It was revealed that the 12-year-old suspect had been previously arrested in connection with five other robbery incidents.
