Two Teens Arrested for Multiple Burglaries at Long Neck Business

August 30, 2024

LONG NECK, Del. — Delaware State Police have arrested two teenagers from Millsboro in connection with a series of burglaries at a Long Neck business. The suspects, aged 15 and 13, have been charged following incidents at Poppy’s Produce, located at 32861 Long Neck Road.

The first burglary occurred on August 17, 2024, when troopers responded to a report of a break-in at the business. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the suspects had damaged a gate, entered the property, and stolen items from a beverage refrigerator. The business was targeted again on August 19 and August 26, with the suspects stealing food and drinks during each incident.

Through investigative efforts, detectives identified the two teenagers as the primary suspects. Warrants were issued for their arrest, and the teens turned themselves in to Troop 4 on August 28, 2024.

Both suspects have been charged with the following:

  • Burglary 3rd Degree (Felony) – 3 counts
  • Conspiracy 2nd Degree (Felony) – 3 counts
  • Theft under $1,500 – 3 counts
  • Criminal Mischief

After their arraignment at Justice of the Peace Court 2, both teens were released into the custody of their guardians. Detectives are continuing their investigation and are working to identify any additional suspects involved in the burglaries.
