Teen suspects charged with attempted murder after Trenton shooting leaves juvenile wounded

Trenton, NJ – Two juvenile suspects are facing attempted murder charges after a shooting in Trenton left another juvenile hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the foot, according to police.

The shooting happened March 11 at approximately 10:14 p.m. near the 900 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard, where Trenton police responded to a ShotSpotter alert reporting gunfire.

Responding officers located seven spent 9mm shell casings in front of 905 MLK Boulevard, authorities said.

A juvenile victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the foot was later found at 187 Rossell Avenue. Emergency responders transported the victim to Capital Health, where the juvenile was listed in stable condition.

The Mercer County Shooting Response Team led the investigation and later identified two juvenile males as the suspected shooters.

Police said both juveniles were charged with criminal attempted homicide, aggravated assault by pointing a firearm, and unlawful possession of a weapon.

The suspects were arrested without incident and are awaiting their first appearance in family court.

Authorities emphasized that the charges are accusations and the juveniles are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
