Ten-Year-Old Wounded in Southeast D.C. Shooting, Suspect Caught On Camera

Washington, D.C. – Detectives from the D.C. Metro Police Department’s Seventh District are appealing to the community for assistance in identifying and locating a suspect involved in a recent shooting in Southeast Washington, D.C.

The incident occurred on Saturday evening when officers were dispatched to the 3400 block of 13th Place following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they found a ten-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound. The child was quickly transported to a local hospital with injuries deemed non-life-threatening.

Authorities have obtained footage from nearby cameras showing both a suspect and a vehicle believed to be involved in the incident.

The D.C. Metro Police Department urges anyone with information about the suspect’s identity or the vehicle’s whereabouts to come forward. Public members are advised not to approach the suspect or vehicle but to contact the police at (202) 727-9099.
