Police are searching for eight stolen puppies after a break-in at an unoccupied home along Benning Road.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Police are searching for eight 5-week-old pit bull puppies that were stolen during a burglary at an unoccupied home in Southeast DC, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
The burglary occurred between 2 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, in the 4900 block of Benning Road, Southeast.
Investigators said the suspect forcibly entered the residence and stole the eight puppies before fleeing the area.
The Metropolitan Police Department released photos of the stolen puppies as detectives work to identify the person responsible.
Police have not released a description of the suspect or said whether the burglary appears to have been targeted.
