Court no-shows lead to arrests in Cumberland warrant sweep
CUMBERLAND, Md. — Multiple arrests were made in Cumberland after police served active warrants tied to missed court appearances and a probation violation, authorities said.
The arrests all took place March 17 following separate incidents involving outstanding bench warrants issued by the Allegany County District Court.
In one case, Crystal Marie Pettie, 37, of Cumberland, was arrested after allegedly failing to appear in court on March 16 for prior charges related to failing to send a child to school. She was taken before a district court commissioner and held on a $2,000 bond.
In a separate incident, Kevin Peter Wagner Jr., 39, of Hagerstown, was arrested on a warrant issued in November 2025 for failing to appear in court on charges of driving on a suspended license.
Police also arrested Jami Laraine Anderson, 44, of Cumberland, on a warrant alleging she violated the terms of her probation stemming from a prior conviction related to failing to send a child to school. She was released after posting bond following an initial appearance.
