Traffic stop uncovers fentanyl, party drugs and ghost gun in Severn, police say

Loaded handgun with obliterated serial number found during roadside investigation

SEVERN, Md. — A routine traffic stop in Severn led to the seizure of suspected fentanyl, MDMA and a loaded handgun with an obliterated serial number, according to Anne Arundel County police.

The investigation began at approximately 5:55 p.m. on June 1 when officers stopped a gold Buick in the 1100 block of Reese Road.

Authorities said the traffic stop resulted in the recovery of suspected fentanyl, suspected MDMA, a loaded 9mm Glock handgun with an obliterated serial number and 11 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

Police identified the driver as 32-year-old Terrell Da’Marzia Branham of Washington, D.C.

Investigators said Branham was prohibited from possessing firearms and was taken into custody following the stop.

He was charged in connection with the weapons and drug-related offenses.

The charges are accusations, and Branham is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
