Cumberland arrest leads to additional citation after court no-show allegation

CUMBERLAND, Md. — A Cumberland woman wanted for allegedly missing a court appearance was arrested Wednesday and later cited on an additional charge after police said they found suspected drug paraphernalia in her possession.

The Cumberland Police Department arrested Holly Anne Mitts, 39, on June 3.

According to authorities, Mitts was wanted on a bench warrant issued by Allegany County District Court on May 11. The warrant alleged she failed to appear in court on a charge of theft under $100.

Following her arrest, Mitts appeared before a District Court commissioner for an initial appearance.

Police said she was released on a $500 unsecured bond.

During the arrest, officers allegedly discovered a quantity of suspected controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia. Mitts was subsequently issued a criminal citation in connection with that offense.

The allegations remain pending in court.
