Tree downs power lines shuts Allenwood Lakewood Road in Wall Township

WALL TOWNSHIP, NJ – A fallen tree brought down power lines Tuesday night, forcing the temporary closure of Allenwood-Lakewood Road between Metedeconk Road and Sandpiper Way.

Utility crews and power company workers are on the scene, officials said.

Traffic is being detoured while the damaged lines are secured and debris cleared.

Police said the work is expected to take less than an hour, but power in the immediate area will be shut off as a safety precaution.

Crews working to restore normal traffic

According to Wall Township Police, the road will reopen once the tree and power lines are safely removed. The department urged drivers to avoid the area and use alternate routes during the brief closure.

No injuries have been reported, and the incident has not affected emergency services in the area.

Residents thanked for patience

Authorities thanked residents for their cooperation as crews continue to work. Updates will be provided through the department’s official channels, including @WallPolice on social media.

The road is expected to reopen later this morning once power is restored and the area is cleared.
