Two arrested in Glen Burnie after traffic stop and drug raid

Two arrests and major drug seizures on Thursday marked a coordinated enforcement day for Anne Arundel County police

GLEN BURNIE, MD. — Two individuals were arrested Thursday in separate incidents involving drug-related offenses following a daytime traffic stop and an evening search warrant execution in Glen Burnie, according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department.

Around 12:00 p.m., officers stopped a white GMC near Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard and Cedarcliff Drive. During the stop, police identified one of the occupants as Danyell Pender, 47, of Baltimore, who had an outstanding warrant. He was taken into custody at the scene.

A search incident to Pender’s arrest revealed a significant quantity of controlled substances and paraphernalia. Police recovered 148 MDMA pills, approximately 11 ounces of marijuana, drug packaging materials, and a cell phone.

Later that day at 8:20 p.m., Western District detectives executed a search warrant in the 8000 block of Greenleaf Court Terrace. As officers approached the location, 27-year-old Tai’jae Kyron Holland attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended without resistance.

Detectives found roughly 64.29 grams of suspected crack cocaine during the search of the residence. In addition, a 2011 Chrysler 200 registered to Holland was also searched as part of the investigation.

Criminal charges pending in Glen Burnie investigations

Both suspects are facing criminal charges connected to narcotics possession and distribution. Police have not yet released full details of the charges or court dates as of Friday.

Authorities said Pender’s arrest stemmed directly from the outstanding warrant, but the subsequent drug discovery expanded the scope of the case. Holland’s arrest and the seizure of narcotics were the result of an ongoing investigation by the department’s Western District Narcotics Unit.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department has not disclosed whether the two incidents are connected. No additional arrests were reported in either case, and no injuries occurred during the operations.

“The department continues to pursue proactive enforcement efforts to combat illegal drug activity in the area,” a police spokesperson said.
