Baseball bat and gun used in brutal Washington Heights robbery spree cops hunt two suspects

NEW YORK, NY — Two men are being sought in a violent robbery pattern in Washington Heights where victims were beaten with a bat and pistol-whipped before thousands of dollars in cash and jewelry were stolen, police said.

The attacks occurred within the confines of the 33rd Precinct along West 158 Street.

In the first incident, at approximately 1:15 a.m. Jan. 25, a 26-year-old man was walking in front of 604 West 158 Street when he was approached by two unidentified individuals. One of the suspects struck him in the head and arm with a bat, causing him to lose consciousness. The suspects then forcibly removed approximately $2,000 in cash and a cellphone valued at about $250 before fleeing eastbound on West 158 Street in a black sedan.

In the second incident, at approximately 4:14 a.m. Feb. 1, a 43-year-old man was standing in front of 605 West 158 Street when he was approached by two individuals. One displayed a firearm and struck the victim, and both suspects punched and kicked him. The pair took jewelry valued at approximately $2,600 and cash estimated at $3,000 before fleeing westbound on West 158 Street on foot.

Police released images of the two suspects and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying them.
