Two New Yorkers wake up winners after TAKE 5 midday drawing

NEW YORK — Two lucky lottery players each won $9,079.50 in the TAKE 5 midday drawing on Tuesday, with top-prize tickets sold in both Mineola and Manhattan.

One winning ticket was purchased at Mineola Smoke & Card on Jericho Turnpike, while the other was sold at Raj Newstand on Whitehall Street in Manhattan. The TAKE 5 drawing, held twice daily at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., selects numbers from a field of one through 39.

Winners have up to one year from the drawing date to claim their prizes.

The New York Lottery, North America’s largest and most profitable lottery system, contributed $3.8 billion to public schools in the 2023-2024 fiscal year.
