Two Office Buildings, House of Worship Planned Near Former Dog Kennel Property in Jackson

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, NJ – A picturesque country-style log cabin and barn near the intersection of Whitesville Road and East Veterans Highway and adjacent properties could be seeing a change in the near future. The last commercial use of the property was as a dog kennel before the land was sold and the developer purchased adjacent properties between 2017 and 2019.

26 Whitesville Road, LLC is seeking to transform four lots on the western edge of Whitesville Road into a house of worship and two two story office buildings.

The township zoning board is scheduled to hear the application on Wednesday, August 17th at town hall.

The following public notice was published this week in the newspaper:

LEGAL NOTICE TOWNSHIP OF JACKSON PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the undersigned, 26 Whitesville Road, LLC (the “Applicant”), has applied, by way of bifurcated application pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:55D-76(b), to the Jackson Township Zoning Board of Adjustment to operate a house of worship on property located at 26 Whitesville Road and identified as Block 19501, Lot 21 (“Parcel A”) and to construct two (2), two (2) story office buildings on the property located at 40 and 48 Whitesville Road, and identified as Block 19501, Lots 22 and 23 (“Parcel B”) on the Jackson Township tax maps.

The Applicant is seeking the following relief: 1. Conditional use variance from Ordinance Sections 244-90(A)(1), 244-87(A)(3) and 244-115(D) to operate a house of worship on Parcel A in violation of the conditional use standard with respect to minimum front yard setback of a principal structure; 2. Use variance from Ordinance Section 244-90(A) to construct two (2) office buildings on Parcel B where office use is not permitted; 3. Bulk variance from Ordinance Section 244-115(J) with respect to the minimum buffer requirement for the proposed parking area on Parcel A; 4. Use variance from Ordinance Section 244-100(C), if deemed necessary, to allow more than one principal use on Parcel B; and 5. Such other relief, as may be required, including any variances, exceptions or waivers deemed necessary by the Zoning Board or its professionals during review of the application.

Copies of the application, plans and other supporting documents are on file in the office of the Jackson Township Zoning Board at the Jackson Township Municipal Building, located at 65 Don Connor Boulevard, Jackson, New Jersey 08527, and are available there for inspection Monday through Friday, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that this matter has been placed on the agenda of the Jackson Township Zoning Board for Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. in the Main Meeting Room at the Jackson Township Municipal Building, located at 95 West Veterans Highway, Jackson, New Jersey 08527, at which time you may appear in person or by an attorney and present any comments and/or objections you may have to the relief sought 26 Whitesville Road, LLC P.O.
